About Dr. Obioha

Dr. Obianuju Obioha is a fellowship-trained orthopaedic sports medicine surgeon specializing in hip, knee, and shoulder conditions. She practices at Trinity Health of New England’s Mercy Medical Center in Springfield, Massachusetts, where she provides expert care to athletes and active individuals of all levels. Dr. Obioha graduated from Princeton University, where she played collegiate rugby, and earned her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. She completed her orthopedic surgery residency at Rush University Medical Center—consistently ranked among the nation’s top orthopedics programs—and advanced fellowship training in sports medicine at the Hospital for Special Surgery, the nation’s No. 1 hospital for orthopedics as ranked by U.S. News & World Report.
